Tip of the Week

Let Compound Interest Work for You

Compound interest can work for you (savings) or against you (debt). Save early and often to both avoid debt and get the most benefit from compound interest.

Reuse school supplies

If there’s paper left in the notebook or your folder still has some life left, there’s really no reason to buy brand new school supplies. If like new ones, wait until a month after back-to-school and stock up when they go on sale.

Save money on electricity

Buy energy efficient light bulbs, Unplug all unused electronics because they still run juice even if it’s not in use and be sure your windows are insulated. These are some of the simplest ways to make your home more energy efficient.

Have a date at home

Instead of taking your date out for a romantic dinner, consider cooking a romantic dinner together. Finish it off with a movie rental.

Make your own cleaner

Stop wasting money on glass cleaner at the grocery store. Make your own! In a spray bottle, mix one eighth cup vinegar to one cup of water. Add a few drops of lemon juice for a fresh scent!
