CollegeInvest 529 College Savings Program Fund Managers: Refers to the financial institution selected by CollegeInvest to provide services in connection with each college savings plan. Currently, the managers for the Direct Portfolio College Savings Plan, Stable Value Plus College Savings Plan, and Scholars Choice College Savings Program are The Vanguard Group, The MetLife Insurance Company, and ClearBridge Advisors, LLC, respectively.
CollegeInvest 529 College Savings Program Policy Statement: The Investment Policy Statement established by CollegeInvest. The Policy Statement sets forth the policies, objectives and guidelines that govern the investment of Trust assets.
Commission : A fee to a third party for assisting a business transaction, such as buying or selling an asset.
Commodity: Any bulk good traded on an exchange or in the cash market such as grain, oats, gold, oil, beef, silver, and natural gas.
Comparison shopping: The process of seeking information about products and services to find the best quality or utility at the best price.
Compensation : Payment and benefits for work performed; also payment to injured or unemployed workers or their dependents.
Compensatory Damages: Amount of money a wrongdoer is required to pay to a victim (or the victim's beneficiary) as a compensation for the damage or injury caused by his or her actions or inactions. Such damages vary with the kind of damage or injury sustained by the victim.
Complaint: An expression of dissatisfaction with a product or service, often in the form of a letter to the seller or manufacturer documenting the problem and stating the desired solution.
Compound Interest : Interest credited daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually on both principal and preciously credited interest.
Compounding: Calculating interest on both principal and previously earned interest.
