10. Free Tax Assistance

Filing taxes is an important financial benchmark each year. In order to receive a refund on any extra taxes you paid throughout the year and to qualify for any tax credits, especially the Earned Income Tax Credit, you must complete your taxes. The tax filing process can be confusing or stressful for many individuals and families, especially those who are new to filing taxes. The good news is that there is free help out there! To find a free tax assistance site near you, call 2-1-1 or visit www.piton.org/taxsites.

Tax Help Colorado
Visit Tax Help Colorado sites throughout the state to get your tax return prepared and e-filed for free by IRS certified college students. Services are free to taxpayers with household income less than $49,000. For more information about Tax Help Colorado, visit www.piton.org/TaxHelpColorado.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
